Violence Prevention Response Coordinator (2 positions)

Position Description
LOCATION: The Collaborative Response to Violence Project (CRVP) is funded by the US Department of Justice to reduce and respond to the crimes of stalking, domestic violence, and sexual assault in our campus communities. Two Coordinators will be hired. One position will be located on the CSU, Chico campus; the other position will be located at Butte College. Please indicate on your application which campus location is your preference or if you would be willing to work at either location.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Project Directors the Coordinators will work collaboratively to provide prevention education, training, and services related to sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking to the campus communities. Examples of responsibilities include: Staffing "Safe Place" offices to provide victim services; Devising referral protocols; effectively and broadly advertising the services provided at "Safe Place;" Creating and conducting trainings on the crimes of stalking, dating violence, domestic violence and sexual assault for area law enforcement, judicial affairs staff, and members of CRVP; Creating and providing violence prevention education to all first year and transfer students at both colleges; Improving coordination between criminal justice agencies, non-profit service providers and campus faculty, staff and students.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Health and Human Services, Criminal Justice, Counseling) and a minimum of one year full-time experience working with a violence prevention task force, preferably in a leadership role, facilitating violence prevention education and/or training programs. Previous experience will need to include working with various parties on intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Experience working directly with victims is a preferred qualification.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate leadership, planning and organizational skills;
- Possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
- Be able to set priorities and deadlines to ensure project goals and objective are obtained;
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with the various partnering agencies, the campus community, and the public.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License and good driving record.
- Participation in the DMV Employer Pull Notice Program (driving record) will be required of the successful candidate.
COMPENSATION: Starting salary: $2,774/month plus benefits. Benefits include employer contributions to a flexible spending account (i.e., a Section 125 cafeteria plan) from which elections may be made for health, vision, dental insurance; employer contributions to a 401(k) retirement plan (beginning year 2); employer paid life and disability insurance; vacation, sick leave and holidays.
The employer is the CSU, Chico Research Foundation, a non-profit corporation serving as an auxiliary organization of California State University, Chico. Employment is considered to be at-will.
