Position Description

The Marquette University Center for Health Education and Promotion/Student Health Service is seeking an energetic, organized, health promotion professional to join our team. We invite qualified applicants for the position of health educator. The position is full time, twelve months. Successful candidates will provide leadership for the development, implementation, and assessment of health education and health promotion programs, services and resources for the university community in cooperation and collaboration with other university departments. We aim to empower students to take active roles in their health and wellness.

Qualifications include:

  • Masters degree, preferred, in community health education, public health, education, health promotion, or a closely related field of study.
  • CHES preferred.
  • At least 2+ years experience in college health/higher education that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of primary prevention, health education theory based practice, program planning, research/evaluation methods, assessment, and collaborative team work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Healthy Campus 2010, Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education, American College Health Association National College Health Assessment.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work some potential evenings and weekends periodically and to adjust work assignments accordingly to meet the changing needs of the center.
  • An understanding of work in the culture of a private, Catholic, Jesuit institution.

12 month full-time position, 37.5 hours/week.
